BEAUTY: Clothing--Moncler Gamme Bleu

Thom Browne has done a lot to revitalize the venerable ski apparel house of Moncler. He is branching out to women's wear as well and for this '14-'15 Fall-Winter collection at Milano Moda Uomo, he showed his women's collection alongside the men. But for our purposes here, we are looking at men's wear... and this season was a meditation--no, a fantasia on argyle. The classic Scottish pattern came in muted greys, black/ white/ red, Browne's signature red/ white/ blue, pastels, and even spiffy black for evening! While the collection is fun--and features Browne's usual apron-like garments and cape-coats for men--it all feels a tiny bit expected. Maybe it's because there is only so much one can do with snow apparel. But Browne usually pulls out all the stops though, for his own collection shown at Paris Fashion Week, next week. I am looking forward to some wild, outlandish theme...
