Breakfast At Tiffany's

In case you missed it, yesterday was the opening of the new Blue Box Café, a restaurant at the top of Tiffany's in New York City. The fourth floor restaurant looks down Fifth Avenue to where Central Park begins. Of course the idea came from the classic film "Breakfast At Tiffany's" starring the incomparable Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard, based on Truman Capote's story of the same name.

The café is part of a much larger renovation of the flagship store. But the restaurant itself is the crowning jewel in a store full of jewels as it will draw people in. Vice President Creative Director at Tiffany's, Richard Moore said, “Design of the space began from the idea of immersion in Tiffany—not only the feeling of being inside a blue box, but surrounded by Tiffany hospitality."

I love that they found a marble for the walls that contains veins of Tiffany Blue! And I love the etched zinc tables.


And the prix fixe menu looks quite nice.
