BEAUTY: Interiors--Douglas Friedman's Ranch in Marfa, Texas

So much interior design goodness to swoon over in the home of interior photographer Douglas Friedman in Marfa, Texas. It must be the constant exposure to amazing, high-end, eclectic interiors that he shoots for magazines like Architectural Digest that gives him such good taste (he shot this spread in AD of his own house!). The strong, angular design of all the furnishings fits very well in this minimalist, modern home (every home in Marfa should have a Donald Judd chair!--it's the black one in the entry), and I love the strong color scheme as well, with organic desert colors set off by the presence of black. I also love the mirror-image dark and light guest bedrooms covered in de Gournay wallcovering, the arresting pigeon art installation in the dining room, and the taxidermied cinghiale in the kitchen. In fact, the entire house feels like a really cool, site specific art installation.

And Friedman himself is gorgeous, too...
