BEAUTY: Painting--Sarah Higdon
I first encountered the marvelous, anthropomorphic paintings of Sarah Higdon on a visit to Austin, Texas many years ago. We bought Visitation With Pineapple (the last painting below) and it currently hangs in our family room. Her other works are charming and humorous (I adore the animal take on classic portraiture), but as with many pieces where animals behave like humans, they are also a comment on human beings and our behavior.
