BEAUTY: Crochet--Jo Hamilton
Jo Hamilton, Scottish-born but Portland-based, is a painter who has branched out into a different and marvelous medium: crochet. She executes gorgeous, very painterly portraits of people, animals, and even places like her enormous ten foot wide "I Crochet Portland." I love how the colors of the yarn do not blend, unlike oils or even acrylics, and I really appreciate seeing the ends of the yarn dangling down like running pigment.
