California artist Jeff McMillan's work is marvelously strange and dark. With references to secret societies/ brotherhoods/ occult groups and their accompanying rituals and ritualistic objects, it is a mash-up of Occidental and "Oriental" sensibilities, drawing the viewer in with arcane writing, symbology, and scenarios.
