Sleep In An Edward Hopper Painting

For their exhibition "Edward Hopper and the American Hotel," the Virginia Museum of Fine Art has recreated one of Hopper's most famous images in three dimensions. The iconic "Western Motel," seen below, shows a woman perched on a bed beside luggage in a motel room with spectacular views of a desolate mountain range worthy of Georgia O'Keeffe. I love how they got the shaft of dazzling sunlight correct.

As you can see, they are showing the painting next to the recreation of the room. And through February 23, 2020, they are offering packages for a night at the museum and a stay in the Western Motel room. You can sleep in the recreation of an actual Hopper.
