BEAUTY: Interior Design--Jay Jeffers in Corona del Mar

Interior designer Jay Jeffers designed a coastal home with ocean views in Corona del Mar, Southern California and did not use a single trope of "seaside design" (no blue-and-white, no sand color, no starfish or shells, thank god!). Instead, his clients said they wanted a sense of "’90s Tom Ford-era Gucci." He created a space of deeper color, texture, and interest ... a home far more engaging than a traditional "coastal" design would have provided. I love the living room with its mix of materials (the different woods on the walls and on the coffee table, along with the dark stone of the wide hearth seat) and those sculptural moments in the form of a floor lamp (right) and skeletal chair (left). The large faceted lights over the dining table (with the bookmatched stone kitchen backsplash in the background) are knockouts, the bedroom is sexy and alluring, and I love the pink Murano glass fixture over the tub in the bathroom! These gorgeous photos by Sam Frost appeared in LUXE.

BEAUTY: Interior--Jay Jeffers

Since returning from France, I have been swamped with interior design work, which is great. I am hoping this might mark an upswing in finances for people in general and therefore an interest in the hiring of an interior designer (namely me). I am working on a master bedroom and bathroom extension and renovation, completely furnishing a huge 6,000 sq. ft. home, and a guest bathroom renovation. This leaves little time for posting the marvelous things I come across. But I had some time this evening, and I want to share with you San Francisco interior designer Jay Jeffers' new weekend home in Napa. I am crazy for Jeffers' work to begin with, but this charming house is pitch perfect. He took a non-descript California ranch house and created something elegant yet casual. I love the chevron wood treatment on the living room fireplace wall, and I especially love the fresnel stage lights in the bathroom!

The work of Interior Designer Jay Jeffers is absolutely exquisite. Look at his masterful use of fabric, pattern, color, shape, form, and texture. Each room is a master class in restrained yet supremely imaginative and luxurious design. The following photos are from a home he did in Pacific Heights, San Francisco. Simply glorious.

And then take a look at these heavenly images from Jeffers' own home...

I'll be featuring more of Jay Jeffers' work in upcoming posts...
In 2011, ELLE DECOR Magazine named him one of the Top 25 Designers in the country. Read about it at ELLE DECOR here.
