Burning
We're on fire.
Climate Catastrophe is real.
Science is real.
Climate is different from weather.
This is not a "process" that is natural. It has not happened before. We are seeing Climate Catastrophe happen right before us. Everything that was predicted 20 years ago is happening now. Just as climatologists thought it would.
I was evacuated from my home, not knowing if it would survive or burn.
I have seen raining ash.
I have seen a dim sun in an orange sky.
I have struggled to breathe in air thick with smoke.
It is real.

Congratulations, Oregon!
Today U.S. District Judge Michael McShane overturned a gay marriage ban in Oregon, and rejected the pathetic attempts of the hateful National Organization for Marriage to interfere with his ruling. While it is possible that McShane's decision may be challenged in court, it is not seen as likely (which is why I have not posted any congratulations for recent states who overturned similar bans because, as usual, bigots stepped in to try to inflict their prejudices on the rest of us).
Another victory for justice, equality, and common sense.
CONGRATULATIONS, OREGON!
