BEAUTY: Painting--Chris Stott

I am in awe of these impeccable, photorealistic paintings by Chris Stott. He elevates vintage objects like cameras, typewriters, electric fans, and books into charming celebrations of an era that created solid, dependable industrial objects that were also beautiful. But the way he does it blows my mind: working in oil on canvas, he manages to capture every element, curve, fold, reflection, and shadow of these still lives. Such work requires incredible skill and control of the medium.

Selected prints of his work can be bought at his sites!

Fuel for my flying dreams...

Not a lot of information out there yet about this viral clip. What might be true: a GoPro camera on the back of an (presumably trained) eagle flying through the Mer de Glace area of France.

BEAUTY: Photography--Paul Octavious

Not only did photographer and designer Paul Octavious photograph these whimsical flying cameras, he built them himself! He says, "I built Camera Birds from cameras handed down to me from my Grandpa and others that I've collected over the years. Sometimes I wish I could get really, really high off the ground to shoot a scene below. I know these guys will get the perfect shot."

Prints are available at his shop. Visit his site linked below.
