"Icarus" by Shimmer

I share a lot of different kinds of music and regular readers of "Oh, By The Way..." may know that one of the genres I love is Ambient. True ambient music. And Drone music. Both of these genres can create magical states for me--and any listener--by driving Alpha brain waves to feel a light, relaxing trance.

So I am delighted to share this track "Icarus" by Shimmer, a project of musician Matthew Wigton.

Sigur Rós presents "Liminal Sleep"

From one of my favorite bands, the Icelandic geniuses Sigur Rós, here is "Liminal Sleep," a nearly three-hour music composition of dreamy, spacey, floaty ambient music for falling asleep to. This is the fourth part of a multimedia project called "Liminal," which they describe as an "endless mixtape" of ambient music which will be continuously added to over time.

“We like the fact that sleep remains defiantly mysterious; something we all do - all need to do - but can’t ever get fully inside. This playlist is a modest attempt to mirror the journey of a sleep cycle, with its curves, steady states and natural transitions."
— Jónsi, Paul Corley & Alex Somers

Here are the first three parts...
