BEAUTY: Clothing--Jean Paul Gaultier

Legendary French designer Jean Paul Gaultier has been an amazing creative force in fashion for nearly thirty-five years. His latest Spring '11 collection took Algerian-born Yves Saint Laurent as an inspiration as well as Saint Laurent's love of Northern Africa (he spent a lot of time at his second home in Marrakech, Morocco). Models sported the large, black-rimmed glasses made famous by Saint Laurent. Mixed into this is a clear North African element, with models wearing tunics and embroidered djellabas. Gaultier is also known, rather like Galliano, for using unusual looking models. I like that we see scruffy beards and long hair here... refreshing...
