Crimes Against Hugh's Manatees
Hugh Crawford draws a daily cartoon strip "Crimes Against Hugh's Manatees" (featured on his site linked at the bottom) that is funny, touching, wry, and witty. His animals reflect the inner turmoil and outer machinations of us humans, which makes it all the more poignant seeing these innocent creatures subject to the troubles we inflict upon ourselves. In that way, it reminds me of classic Peanuts panels in which Charlie and the gang fretted about psychoanalysis and interpersonal relationships...at five and six years old. If we can recognize the pristine innocence in those kids and these animals, maybe we can love ourselves a little more...
