"Late Evening Thoughts" by Multi-Panel

"Late Evening Thoughts" by Multi-Panel (Ludo Maas of the Netherlands). This beautiful, enigmatic song has always broken my heart.

sitting here, speaking without words
i wonder
why does she stay inside the house for so long
so long

it is good now in the evening
and tomorrow will be a good day
tomorrow i will tell him
i'll never look again

sitting here, speaking without words
why does she stay inside the house for so long

and it's good now in the evening
tomorrow will be a good day
i will tell him
i wish i could
i wish i could

Hi Ludo!

Thanks for commenting, and for the lovely song! Like I said in the post, I have always loved this song. I think it is the highlight on the CD for me. The music of course is wonderful and Impressionistic and the tone-poem nature of the sounds supports the text which is so touching, moving, poignant. Did you write the words?

The whole thing is just lovely.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for your music!

as Jay-Z would say, 'far too kind' :-)

I wrote the words, but you were right to pick up on the 'tone poem' kind of vibe, cause the lyrics were inspired by a Flemish writer, Stijn Streuvels, who wrote a couple of impressionistic novels about rural life a long time ago in Flanders. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stijn_Streuvels). I tried to catch the mood of one of these novels. The longing, the difficulty (maybe even the inability) to express a grand love.

Cheers, and best regards.
