Winter Solstice at Seven Light Bay
Japanese artist Mariko Mori's installation on an Okinawan island is both serene and monumental. In 2010, Mori founded a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Faou Foundation, (the word "faou" is a neologism created by Mori meaning "eternal light"). Inspired by Buddhism and ecology, the Faou Foundation's mission is to create six art installations around the world, collectively titled Primal Rhythm, as homages to the natural environment of each locale. And the first installation is for a winter solstice observation at Seven Light Bay. Watch the video to learn about it.
