BEAUTY: Mixed Media--Laurie Frick
Laurie Frick is fascinated with data. She started out years ago making artistic watercolor graphs of sleep and personality patterns. This gave way to larger groupings of data and even larger art works. In her series Imagined Time, she uses found paper and cut paper to create intricate Mondrian-like color grids based on the memory and experience of time. They are rather hypnotizing, looking like plan views of densely packed cities. Do click and zoom in to see the words...
