"Born This Way" by Orville Peck

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of Lady Gaga's uplifting anthem "Born This Way" (and to celebrate Pride Month!), Gaga has created "Born This Way The Tenth Anniversary" special edition album, which will be released on June 18 via Interscope. And to cover the title song, she asked none other than the marvelous gay country artist Orville Peck...what an honor. And his "Country Road Version" is a hoot. It actually pays homage to the original while being utterly Orville.

"I am so honored and excited to be a part of the iconic legacy of this song and album. Thank you @ladygaga for askin me and Happy Pride y'all !!" the Canadian masked country musician tweeted.

"Stupid Love" by Lady Gaga

I do love me some Gaga and boy, do I love this song and video for "Stupid Love." It's simply exhilarating.

And the entire thing was filmed on an iPhone 11 Pro. Amazing.

One of the things I love about Gaga is that she came from pop roots, but then studied performance art with Marina Abramović, then starred on “American Horror Story: Hotel” as a vampire, then sang standards and torch songs with Tony Bennett (and did so phenomenally I might add), then turned in a stunning film performance in “A Star Is Born.” Seems like any other pop star would be just one thing. Even Madonna in all her different incarnations has only ever been Madonna. But somehow Gaga has managed to not only reinvent herself in different incarnations, she has done so across barriers and completely different mediums. Anyone else would have decided, after her film success, to be “an actress” now but as evidenced here, she said instead, “I’m going to dye my hair pink, sing a kick-ass pop song, and just dance.” She is The Lady Gaga.

BEAUTY: Clothing

Thierry Mugler is a kind of living legend in the fashion world. His sexy science fiction/ futuristic style shaped much of the 80s. In 2002, he stepped back from the fashion label he created in the 70s to concentrate on other ventures. He created characters and costumes for the Cirque du Soleil production "Zumanity" as well as directing one of the segments of the show. He was also the artistic advisor for Beyoncé's 2009 "I Am..." world tour.

In September of 2010, Nicola Formichetti was named creative director of the Thierry Mugler brand. As Fashion Director and Stylist for Lady Gaga, he seemed to be a perfect choice for the job. The science fiction feeling continues along with a sense of surrealism. The Fall-Winter '11-'12 collection shown at Paris Fashion Week features opera-length rubber gloves, rubber aprons, and clear/ butter hued rubber jackets and trousers (like the rubber pieces Gaga wore in her "Bad Romance" video) along with some amazing VERY WIDE trousers. Dark colors permeate the collection but there are some unexpected splashes of vivid orange in suits and thumbs (only the thumbs) of gloves.
