Amen Dunes
On his release "Love," Amen Dunes (the band name for musician Damon McMahon) makes a sound whose appeal I just can't get past. The melancholy vagueness of it all intrigues me. Is it folk? Is it psychedelic? It is...
"Lilac In Hand" plays like a cha-cha that is just too relaxed to actually become a cha-cha...
...and "Lonely Richard" gets into a folksy, funky-yet-sleepy groove...
...these meandering, non-narrative videos seem to visually capture a sense of the music. It's all impression and texture.
And I can't resist adding his version of Jeff Buckley's "Song To The Siren" from the forthcoming EP "Cowboys" out on January 20th, 2015.
