The Peacocks of Pitti Uomo, June 2024

Pitti Uomo, the twice-a-year Italian trade show in Florence wrapped up today and the buyers, industry professionals, fashion journalists, and bloggers who attend are often as interestingly dressed (sometimes more so) as the clothing inside the Fortezza da Basso. The courtyard outside provides a perfect spot for watching these peacocks come and go...

I feel we are living in a great age where pretty much anything goes: classic, dapper Italian suiting, loose suiting, skirts, dresses, artistic garments, whimsical/eccentric statements, Western wear (Europeans have a very different, naïve take, through the cartoon-y lens of American cinema and television, of Western wear and do not understand its problematic cultural symbology of certain types of socio-political-economic demographics here in the United States)...and no one can rock a neckerchief the way Italians can!
