BEAUTY: Ceramics--Julia Pilipchatina
I am in love with these beautiful handmade ceramic plates by artist Julia Pilipchatina. Her technique for making part of the plate look like it is carved from wood creates a magical balance with the matte black and gloss white ceramic and occasional gold line. Stunning.
You can purchase her work from her Etsy store.

BEAUTY: Ceramics--Brian Rochefort
These indefinable ceramic pieces by Brian Rochefort are irresistible. He makes "cups" that he then slathers and loads with a variety of ceramic glazes that produce haphazard textures and colors. Fascinating.

BEAUTY: Sculpture--Molos Morina
Molos Morina is a multi-disciplinary artist who has created a series of small busts--most are around three inches high--slathered and dripping with ceramic glazes. His amazing organic, petal-like faces and figures remind me of the work of Alison Schulnik, especially in her video entitled "Mound," previously seen here.
