BEAUTY: Interior--Zoevox
BNP Paribas, one of the best rated banks in the world, has opened up a very innovative bank branch that they call a "concept store" at 2 Place de l'Opera in Paris. Paris-based architect Fabrice Ausset of Zoevox created ten distinct "zones" inside this open-plan bank that features figuratively and literally the concept of transparency. The aim is to bring the client and banker together, unlike the antiquated paradigm of the teller on one side and the customer banished to the other, powerless, ordinary side.
The design of this bank is simply stunning. It is completely revolutionary to take a staid institution like a bank and do this to it! In addition to Zoevox-designed furniture and furnishings, the project also utilized furniture by Christophe Delcourt, Philippe Hurel, Paola Lenti, Christian Liaigre, India Mahdavi, Antonio Lupi (lavabo), Pierre Paulin and Philippe Starck, and lighting by Sylvie Coquet, Adrien Gardère, Poul Henningsen, Marco Merendi, Karim Rashid and Patricia Urquiola.
