The Singular Hotel
The Singular Hotel is a luxury destination in Patagonia, Chile. Built in a complex of buildings that was once the Bories Cold Storage Plant, the designers of the hotel retained as much of the original structure as possible, while subtly incorporating additions and glass walls as well as indigenous and worn-looking materials. The Plant started in 1915 and operated for seventy years. What I love about The Singular is how post-Victorian and industrial furnishings are placed within a contemporary context.
There are fifty-four rooms and three suites, and all feature wide glass panel windows overlooking the breathtaking Patagonian fjords in Last Hope Sine. The Spa and pool also feature floor to ceiling glass windows that allow for the same view.
