The Penguin Coffee Shop on Lincoln Blvd in Santa Monica, 1959
This is a glorious example of classic Googie architecture from Southern California in the 50s and 60s: The Penguin Coffee Shop on Lincoln Blvd in Santa Monica was a masterwork of Googie pioneers Armet & Davis.
This gem has been lovingly restored and is now a Mel's Diner--they kept a penguin for the sign!
