BEAUTY: Clothing--Misc. Milano Moda Uomo

The Italian portion of Fashion Month wrapped yesterday in Milan and here, from the Fall Winter '20-'21 collections, are some interesting details...

...like blanket wraps at Massimo Alba. LOVE!

Marcus Wainwright took his Rag & Bone brand back to its English roots with a collection partially created with a very unlikely partner...Laura Ashley (!). The country rose chintz suggestion on pants, a hoodie, and shirt actually work.

Farragamo showed some awesomely delicious boots whose shafts are made of the suiting material they are worn with. I love the first look with the dress shorts in a pinstripe. So cool.

While the collection itself is full of simple suiting and outerwear basics, I want to point out that Corneliani's collection Circle is a project of four total looks produced with a low environmental impact using certified organic materials including a wool-cashmere blend made with no chemical dyes; Lyocell, a cellulose-based biodegradable fabric; technographene, a highly technological material with antibacterial, thermal, and antistatic properties; recycled eco-cashmere; and sustainably grown organic cotton. Proof that this can be done. This is the future of not only "fashion" but clothing in general as we struggle to keep our footing in a world that is dying...

And kudos to Neil Barrett for using mature and unconventional models on the runway! As a mature man myself, I appreciate the concept of wearing something that defies expectations. I don't play into the idea of restricting myself to clothing that seems like I should be wearing it simply because it is someone else's (someone younger) idea of what is "appropriate" for a man of my age.
