The Peacocks of Pitti Uomo, January 2020

Pitti Uomo, the twice-a-year international clothing trade show in Florence wrapped up yesterday and the buyers, fashion journalists, and bloggers who attend are often as interestingly dressed (sometimes more so) as the clothing inside the Fortezza da Basso. The courtyard outside provides a perfect spot for watching these peacocks come and go...

I do love how Italian men dress: in full, classic suits with attention to small details like bracelets, cufflinks, or lapel pins. And while the Italian style is to be impeccably dressed, there were only a few men who followed this snappy tradition. Instead, a strange, inexplicable penchant for American Western wear seemed to be nearly everywhere! Also seen: clutch bags (I approve) and pearls.
