BEAUTY: Art--Philip Shadbolt
Philip Shadbolt may hail from Australia but now divides his life between the UK and India where he found a deep, personal spiritual connection. He cites Renaissance and Pre-Raphaelite art as inspirations for his Hindu-based images but in the dimensionality of his figures, I see Russian iconography. From his mission statement on his website:
"I paint the male form because it is beautiful when we let our spirit shine through, and we each have a duty to nurture beauty, grace, and understanding in the world around us."
