BEAUTY: Ceramics--Alessandro Gallo
Regular readers know of my love of human figures with animal heads or animals acting as humans, as I regularly post art featuring these anthropomorphic figures (previously here). And much to my delight, Italian sculptor Alessandro Gallo created two fantastic pieces, an elevator and a subway, featuring a crowd of human-animal hybrids. I just love everything about these pieces: the style, the colors, the choice of animals, it is all charming and beautifully whimsical.
From what I can tell, the figures in the elevator are about 9" to 12" high...
I love that he included process pictures of the piece on his website!
And his subway piece is monumental in scale and detail!
