BEAUTY: Clothing--Amiri

Mike Amiri looked to Woodstock, Jimi Hendrix, and hippie culture from the 60s and 70s for his Spring Summer '20 collection at Paris Fashion Week. I have a soft spot in my heart for hippie dudes, and these Bohemian boys are luxe versions of Woodstock attendees (the show opened with some nice tailored jackets with a fun embellishment of a trompe-l'œil guitar strap running diagonally, as though the instrument is being worn backwards). Decked out in pastel colors, tie-dyed silk, crocheted tops, beads and feathers and turquoise, and velvet pants, one denim jacket was even airbrushed with the cover of the Hendrix album "Axis: Bold As Love," a move which was authorized by the musician's estate.
